Married for 64 years, Peter and Maria Gallerani, of Wilbraham Commons, were simply made for each other. With the support of Porchlight Home Care, they will continue to stay together in their own home. Since Peter, 86, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 15 years ago, Maria provided the support at home, supplementing the care offered by the VA. However, in recent months, Maria began having her own health challenges, which included a stint in the hospital for a flare-up of COPD. It was clear that the couple would need additional support to maintain their independence.

After many years in Florida, the Galleranis returned to the Pioneer Valley seven years ago to be closer to their son and grandson. With the support of Porchlight they are able to spend more quality time with family and friends, many of whom live nearby in the Wilbraham Commons community.
